What is the Google Maps API key and where/how do I get it?

Google only provides a certain quota of views for embedding their maps on websites. If this quota is exceeded, an error message is displayed instead of the Google Map.
You can remedy this by registering yourself with the Google Maps map service and requesting your own API key. This can then be stored in your website creator. This means you have a significantly higher contingent at your disposal than what is included by default.
Alternatively, you can also integrate other map services such as HERE etc. on your website via iFrame. You can find more information here

In order to get the API key, you have to log in to the Google Maps Platform in the first step. This requires a Google account, with which you must log in. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create one for free.
Follow the setup and activation process by entering the necessary customer data and payment information. In the last step you have to activate the Google Maps Platform so that the API key is created and displayed.

Then send the API key to our customer service via the ticket system, which will initiate everything else.
