What DNS records do I need for Hosted Exchange?

To use Hosted Exchange, you’ll need the following three DNS records:
Make sure that yourdomain.eu must be replaced with your own domain in each instance.

In the myhosttech Customer Center, this should look like this, though of course you must always replace “hosttechdemo.com” with your own domain.

Did you order Hosted Exchange before September 2026?

If you ordered your Hosted Exchange before September 2026, your account may still be on our previous Exchange environment. In that case, different DNS records apply to your domain.

For existing Hosted Exchange accounts, use the following DNS records:
MX yourdomain.eu exchange.hosttech.eu
CNAME exchange.yourdomain.eu exchange.hosttech.eu
CNAME autodiscover.yourdomain.eu exchange.hosttech.eu

Important: Do not change the DNS records of an existing Hosted Exchange account to the new values listed above if your account is still running on the previous environment.

General Information on Configuring DNS Records

You can change DNS records at hosttech in the myhosttech Customer Center under ” Domains ” in the Domain Center by clicking “Details ” and then “DNS Records” for the corresponding domain.
It can take up to 6 hours for DNS record changes to take effect.

Please note that you only need to change these with us if you have set our nameservers for your domain.
If you use external nameservers, you must enter the DNS records with your external provider.
In that case, the terms “Mail Exchanger” and “Canonical Name” may be replaced by other terms (e.g., “Destination”).

If you’re currently using external name servers but would now like to switch to our name servers, we recommend that you contact our technical support team first, as there are a few things to keep in mind.
